Had a terrific time shooting this Italian beauty in her World Cup team’s colors!

Here’s one of my all time favorite portraits…  don’t know what it is about it… but I absolutely LOVE the captured moment :)

It was early afternoon, a sunny June day in Naples. As we arrived at the hotel where the bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready, there was a flurry of activity throughout the room. Cathy sat by the window, the sunlight lighting her face as pearls were threaded through her hair. Giggles filled the room as two adorable princesses were also being dressed.

We entered the room to a warm welcome, captured some of the moments prior to her slipping on her dress and returned to find her glowing in her gown

World Cup Family Portraits

WorldCup001 World Cup Family Portraits children

As a team of South Florida Wedding photographers we obviously focus primarily on Brides and Grooms. Our business name, however, is Many Many Moments. We chose this name because our mission is to capture the many, many moments that are special in our clients’ lives.

Now for many out there the World Cup is somewhat of a nuisance that rears it’s head every four years and requires you to at least pretend that you have a clue that something is going on, related to football (you know, the one played with your feet, as opposed to that other one where you carry the ball in your hands  ;-) ) somewhere half around the world. For those I offer these three tidbits that you can use at the watercooler and get by for the next few days “Vuvuzelas are very annoying, don’t you think?” … “Wow… I don’t think France has a chance to pass the first round!” … “Who would have thought Spain would have lost to Switzerland!?!?”

If you’re still reading, odds are the World Cup is indeed one of the Many Many Moments in your life that you remember as the time goes by.

If you know someone who is TIVO-ing the games… heading to sports-bars at impossible times of the day, blabbering about zone defense and 4-4-2 … let them know of this offer… odds are they’ll love the idea to have some professional photos from this special time.

Here are two images that are VERY special to me: The first one is my oldest, taken in 2006 (when Italy won the World Cup, Yay!) … she was almost a year old at the time:

And here she is, wearing the same shirt, four years later, at the start of another World Cup adventure (yes, they DO grow up too fast):

I have to admit that I get a lump in my throat at the thought that the NEXT time she’ll be wearing the shirt during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil… she’ll be nearly 9 years old.

JD&B004 Joanne, Doug and Brendyn Baby Bump family portrait session in North Miami Beach, Florida babybump

I could post that one image and frankly it would say all there is to say :)

It was my first time photographing a baby bump session (that’s what I call expectant mom or pregnancy photography by the way) that included Dad Mom and an older sibling. And I AM HOOKED!!! I’ll be honest… I was worried that it would be tough to do a baby bump session with a little toddler … well … toddling around. Boy was I wrong…

Brendyn was a TOTAL HAM. Ok, and he’s ridiculously adorable too… here… check him out:

Like in some of those suspensful movies… let’s start from the end. Dj and Ralph are no longer just Dj and Ralph… baby Tristran has already joined their family increasing it’s size to 3! Yay!

We had a fantastic time taking photos of these awesome young parents (well obviously they were parents-to-be when we shot) on Hollywood beach … time flew and by the time we all looked at our watches it was like “it’s WHAT TIME?!?!?”

I’m going to start with my favorite shot of the session, which was Lisette’s idea:

It seems like a great shot to start with considering that little Tristran is now part of the picture… and no, unfortunately I don’t have a photo of Tristran… but I can paint a mental picture. Take Ralph. Make him really really tiny. Now add Dj to make a much cuter version of daddy… Tada! Tristran!

Hello gorgeous mommy!!!!

I have to say… it’s always great to photograph a mommy to be. They’re so gorgeous and full of joy and love and never shy away from showing it when I’m capturing these special moments… as a dad though I have to say that when I get a dad to be that really “gets into it” and shows the emotions I remember feeling myself when my little ones were inside my wife’s tummy… that rocks even more :)

Jaelin and Dave – Wedding Album

JaelinDaveAlbum004 Jaelin and Dave Wedding Album album

Just finished The Studio Sample album for Jaelin and Dave’s wedding in Aspen.

While I often find some photos that I really like from every wedding, I never really fall in love with them until they come to life in the Artbook Album. Maybe it’s because from the moment I flip the switch on the first camera as the bride begins her day to the moment I flip the switch off on the last camera at the end of the day I’m constantly thinking of finding that next image that will help me tell the story of the day in the album. Maybe it’s because I love seeing the images next to one another, contrasting themes, contrasting color versus b/w … I don’t know what it is.

What I do know is that the moment I place my logo on that very last page and then leaf through the completed album to see my work presented in the way I always intended it to be seen, I get a silly smile on my face and I get energized about shooting the next love story.

Jaelin and Dave. I had a fantastic time shooting these two wonderful people’s engagement session back in early ’09 … and I was honored to join them for their wedding in Aspen in mid January.

I hope their family and friends will see this studio sample album and relive that magic day.

Jaelin and Dave, one more time congratulations and best wishes on a very very long and happy marriage.

You can see the whole Studio Sample album here in a convenient page-flipping interface. Enjoy and please let me know what you think in the comments!

Many thanks go to my photographer friends who offered valuable suggestions in helping me make this my favorite album to date.
